The Challenge

Miracles for Kids is one of the only organizations on the West Coast providing monthly financial aid, subsidized housing, and counseling to families with critically ill children. Despite its powerful mission, the organization faced a digital and messaging challenge: how to translate deep emotional impact into action—donations, volunteerism, and community support—while maintaining clarity, trust, and accessibility.

I was engaged to help elevate their digital presence, refine their messaging, and create a user experience that would inspire empathy and drive engagement across all touchpoints.

The Vision

When families are fighting for their child’s life, they shouldn’t have to fight alone. The vision was to build a platform that not only told the story of Miracles for Kids—but invited users to become part of it. Every click, every scroll, every interaction needed to reinforce the urgency, humanity, and hope behind the organization’s work.


By aligning brand strategy with user-centered design, we aimed to create a digital experience that would convert compassion into action.

The Solution

Through strategic design and storytelling, we transformed Miracles for Kids’ digital ecosystem into a platform for impact:

  • Refined messaging to center around emotional clarity and action: “Be Our Miracle” became a rallying cry for donors, volunteers, and partners

  • Designed intuitive pathways for engagement—monthly donations, volunteer sign-ups, and event participation—making it easy to get involved

  • Created family story modules to humanize the mission, featuring real families like Michelle’s, Kiara’s, and Oziel’s to build empathy and trust

  • Developed a scalable UX framework that supported transparency (financials, hospital partnerships) while maintaining warmth and accessibility

  • Ensured mobile-first responsiveness and accessibility compliance to reach users across devices and abilities


The result was a digital experience that didn’t just inform—it moved people. Miracles for Kids now has a platform that reflects the heart of its mission and empowers thousands to take action, support families, and make miracles happen every day.
